Microeconomics & Markets - part 2

The course consists of 10 plenary lectures and two exams: midterm and final, each being equal to 50% of your final grade. This summary (part 2) contains all the content you need to know for the final exam of the course!

The course of Microeconomics and Markets provides an overview of the most important theories and concepts in the field of microeconomics. Strong emphasis is placed on the applicability of theories and concepts to concrete situations. The student is encouraged to have a thorough theoretical knowledge of how businesses and markets are organized and to refine his/her analytical skills by applying the knowledge in decision making processes. We will use mathematical tools such as graphs, equations, and some basic calculus.

Both midterm and final exams usually include a number of open questions with several sub-questions. These may be divided into three types: (1) use a formula to calculate a number of variables; (2) plot a related graph, following the meaningful proportions and labelling the parts required; (3) explain/describe a certain economic term or phenomenon. The first two types do require a lot of practice. Nonetheless, as soon as you do practice enough, such exercises should not be difficult for you in the exam, as they will closely resemble the one you have already solved.

In short, a Reken Maar summary is everything you need to pass Microeconomics & Markets!
